Privacy Policy

Ritune (“Ritune,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use the Ritune.me website (the “Site”) and our related services or mobile applications (the “Apps” ) . By accessing or using our Site or Apps, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and agree to its terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services. We strive to follow applicable data protection laws and principles, including those of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), even if our service is not directly targeting those jurisdictions. Importantly, Ritune does not collect any health-related or other sensitive personal data (such as racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, genetic or biometric data, etc.) as part of our services.

What Information We Collect

We collect basic personal information necessary to provide you with our services. This includes information that you provide to us directly, as well as data collected automatically as you use our Site/Apps:

  • Personal Details: When you create an account or sign up, we ask for personal information like your name and email address. You will also create login credentials (such as a username and password) to secure your account . We store your password in an encrypted or hashed form for security.

  • Account and Profile Information: In addition to your login credentials, we may store other account-related details you choose to provide (for example, profile information or preferences). Users are required to create an account and log in to use most features of Ritune.

  • Payment Information: If you make purchases (for example, subscribing to a paid plan or buying content), we collect the necessary payment details. However, we do not store full credit card numbers or financial account information on our servers. Payments on Ritune are processed securely via our payment processors integrated through our platform (e.g. Kajabi’s integration with Stripe or PayPal), so your sensitive payment details are handled by those providers . We retain only information such as billing name, billing address (if provided), and a payment confirmation or transaction ID.

  • Communications: If you contact us or otherwise send us correspondence (for example, emails to customer support, feedback forms, or messages), we will collect and retain that information. This includes your contact details and the content of your communications . We may also keep records of your communication preferences, such as your opt-in to our newsletter or marketing emails.

  • Newsletter and Email Marketing Information: If you subscribe to our newsletter or mailing list, we will collect your name and email address for the purpose of sending you our newsletter and promotional updates. We will also note your preferences (such as the fact that you consented to receive marketing communications). You can unsubscribe from these communications at any time by using the provided link in emails or contacting us, as described below.

  • Usage Data (Cookies and Analytics): When you use our Site or App, we automatically collect certain information about your device and how you interact with our services. This data may include your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, pages or screens you view, the dates/times of your visits, and other usage statistics. We collect this information through cookies, web beacons, and similar tracking technologies implemented by our platform (Kajabi) or analytics providers. For example, cookies help us recognize you when you return, keep you logged in during your session, and understand how you navigate our content. (See Cookies and Analytics below for more detail.)

We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13, and our services are not directed to children (see Children’s Privacy below). If you choose not to provide certain personal information (such as creating an account or providing payment information when required), you may not be able to use some of our features or services.

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes, in accordance with applicable laws and on appropriate legal bases (such as performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and improving our services, your consent for marketing, or compliance with legal obligations):

  • Providing and Improving the Service: We use your information to create and manage your account, authenticate you when you log in, and provide you with the features and services you request. For example, your information allows you to access members-only content and utilize the Ritune platform’s features. We may also use data about your usage to personalize your experience (such as remembering your preferences) and to improve our Site and Apps’ functionality and content.

  • Processing Transactions: We use your personal and payment information to process transactions you make, such as subscription fees or purchases. This includes charging your payment method through our payment processor and enabling access to paid features. Payment information is handled securely via our payment providers, and we ensure any payment processing is done in compliance with applicable standards (like PCI-DSS for credit card processing).

  • Communicating with You: We will use your contact information (like email address) to send you important administrative or account-related communications, such as confirmations of your sign-up or purchase, receipts, technical or security notices (e.g. password resets), and updates about your account or our terms. If you have joined our mailing list, we will also send you our newsletter and marketing emails with product updates, articles, or promotions that we believe may be of interest. These marketing communications will be sent to you only if you have opted in or if otherwise permitted by law, and you can opt out at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in the email or by contacting us. (Opting out of marketing emails will not affect your receipt of important transactional or service-related emails.)

  • Customer Support: We may use your information (including communications and contact details) to respond to your inquiries, support requests, or feedback. This helps us troubleshoot issues, answer your questions, and improve our customer service.

  • Security and Fraud Prevention: Information (especially usage and technical data) may be used to monitor for and prevent fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful activities. For example, we may analyze log data to detect suspicious logins or violations of our Terms of Service. We also use data to maintain the security of our Site and Apps and to debug and fix errors.

  • Legal Compliance: We may process your personal information as necessary to comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes or enforceable governmental requests. For instance, we could use and retain data to fulfill tax and accounting obligations, or to respond to a court order or subpoena. We also use your data to enforce our agreements (such as our Terms of Service) and to resolve disputes or exercise our legal rights.

  • Aggregated Analytics: We may use usage data and analytics to generate aggregated, de-identified statistics that help us understand user behavior and trends in order to improve our service. For example, we might track overall sign-in rates or feature usage to decide on future improvements. These aggregated insights do not identify any individual user.

We will only use your personal information for the purposes above. If we need to use your data for any other purposes that are not compatible with those for which it was collected, we will provide you with notice and, if required by law, seek your consent.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We value your privacy. Ritune does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing or other purposes . We share your information only in the following limited situations:

  • Service Providers (“Processors”): We employ trusted third-party companies and individuals to perform certain services on our behalf, and your information may be shared with them to the extent necessary for those services. This includes, for example, our website hosting and platform provider (Kajabi), which powers the Ritune site and stores data on our behalf , payment processors (such as Stripe or PayPal) to handle billing transactions , email service providers to send newsletters or other communications, and analytics providers that help us understand how our services are used. These service providers are bound by contractual obligations to use your information only for our purposes and to protect it. We ensure that all third-party services we use adhere to strong privacy and security standards (for example, Kajabi and our other vendors are expected to be GDPR-compliant in their handling of personal data) .

  • Legal Requirements and Protection: We may disclose your information if we determine in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to comply with a legal obligation or request (for example, in response to lawful requests by public authorities, court orders, or subpoenas). We may also share information when we believe it is necessary to protect our rights, users, and business, including enforcing our terms, investigating potential violations, preventing fraud or security issues, and addressing issues that could harm us, our users, or the public. In such cases, we would only provide the data required and allowed by law.

  • Business Transfers: If Ritune undertakes a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition by another company, reorganization, or sale of all or part of its assets, your personal information may be disclosed to the parties involved in the transaction as part of due diligence or transferred to the successor or new owner as one of the transferred business assets. In the event of bankruptcy or insolvency, personal data could also be transferred as an asset. If such a transfer occurs, we will ensure the recipient of the data is bound by terms that protect your personal information consistent with this Privacy Policy (for example, requiring the new owner to use your data only as allowed by this policy).

  • With Your Consent: We will share your personal information with third parties in ways not covered by this Privacy Policy only if you specifically request or consent to such sharing. For example, if you opt-in to a co-branded promotion or an integration that requires us to send your data to a third party, we will do so only with your permission.

Apart from the circumstances above, we do not disclose your personal information to any third parties. In particular, Ritune does not sell your personal data and does not share it with third-party advertisers or data brokers. If in the future we anticipate any new sharing of your information beyond what is outlined here, we will update this Privacy Policy and, if required, provide you with an opportunity to consent or opt-out.

Cookies and Analytics

Like most online services, our Site and Apps use cookies and similar tracking technologies to provide and improve our service. These technologies are used both by Ritune and by our platform provider (Kajabi) and analytics partners.

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. They serve a variety of functions, such as enabling you to stay logged in, remembering your preferences, and gathering information about how you use the site help.kajabi.com. For instance, when you first visit Ritune, our system (through Kajabi) assigns a cookie to your browser that allows us to recognize you on subsequent visits and provide continuity in your experience (e.g., keeping you logged in during a session). Some cookies are essential for the Site to function (for example, to allow secure logins and process the checkout for purchases). Other cookies are used to enhance performance and collect analytics data, helping us understand aggregate usage patterns and improve our content and layout .

In addition to cookies, we may use related technologies such as web beacons or pixels (small graphic images or code in emails or on the website) which work in conjunction with cookies to track things like whether you have opened a marketing email or visited a certain page. These tools provide us with insights into user engagement. Our platform Kajabi and any analytics tools may also log technical data such as your IP address, device type, and browsing events as described in “Usage Data” above.

We use cookies and analytics on the following bases: (i) to operate the service (e.g., authentication cookies for logging in, or cookies to remember your cart items), (ii) to remember your preferences (for example, your language or other settings), (iii) for analytics and performance (to count visitors and understand how they navigate our site, which pages are popular, etc.), and (iv) for advertising/marketing in a limited capacity (for example, if we ever run remarketing ads, though at present we do not serve third-party ads on Ritune). Any cookies used for analytics or advertising would typically be third-party cookies (e.g., Google Analytics cookies) and would collect information in a way that does not directly identify you. We do not allow third-party advertisers to set cookies for targeted advertising on our Site at this time, and we do not share data from our cookies with unaffiliated third parties.

Your Choices: When you first visit our Site, you may see a notice about cookies if required by law. By continuing to use our Site, you consent to the use of cookies as described in this Policy. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most web browsers allow you to delete cookies, refuse all cookies, or prompt you before accepting a cookie. Please note that if you disable or reject certain cookies, some features of our service (especially those that require login or remembering your settings) may not function properly. For example, if your browser blocks all cookies, you might not be able to log in or use the membership areas of Ritune.

For analytics, we or our partners may provide additional opt-out mechanisms. If we use Google Analytics or similar, you may opt out by using tools like the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. As for email tracking pixels, you can typically avoid those by not downloading images in emails (though that may affect email presentation).

Kajabi Analytics: Because Ritune is built on the Kajabi platform, Kajabi may collect certain analytics about site performance and usage on our behalf. Kajabi uses necessary cookies to help our site run effectively and cookies/techniques for gathering usage data . To learn more about Kajabi’s use of cookies and how it helps with privacy compliance, you can refer to Kajabi’s Cookie Notice and Privacy Policy help.kajabi.com. We have configured our use of Kajabi such that it does not collect any unnecessary personal data beyond what is needed to serve our members.

Data Security

We take the security of your personal information seriously and implement industry-standard security measures to safeguard it . Your data is stored securely on Kajabi’s servers, which employ encryption and other advanced protections . Specifically, we use technical, administrative, and physical controls designed to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of personal data. These measures include, for example, encryption of data in transit (using HTTPS/TLS protocols when you interact with our Site or App) and encryption of sensitive data at rest where applicable. We also maintain firewall protection and regularly update our software and infrastructure to address security vulnerabilities.

Access to personal information within our organization is limited to authorized personnel who need the information to perform their job duties (for instance, customer support or technical staff), and such personnel are bound by confidentiality obligations . We also ensure that any third-party service providers handling your data (like our hosting or payment partners) are employing appropriate security measures and standards.

While we strive to protect your information, please note that no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. Thus, we cannot guarantee absolute security of your information. You should also take care with how you handle and disclose your personal information and avoid emailing sensitive information to us (since email might not be fully secure). If you have a password for your Ritune account, please keep it confidential and do not share it. Notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised or there has been any unauthorized access.

In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law.

International Data Transfers

Ritune is based in and operates from the United States. If you are using our Site or Apps from outside the U.S., be aware that your personal information will likely be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States or other jurisdictions where our service providers are located. Data protection laws in these countries may differ from the laws of your country of residence and may not provide the same level of protection. However, we take steps to ensure that your privacy remains protected consistent with this Policy.

When we transfer personal data from the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or other regions with data transfer restrictions, we rely on legal mechanisms to ensure compliance. This may include using the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or other approved transfer frameworks, and implementing additional safeguards as needed to protect the data. Our service providers (like Kajabi and others) that process EEA/UK personal data on our behalf are also required to adhere to GDPR standards, and many have certified to relevant frameworks or signed onto SCCs to lawfully enable data transfers.

By using the Ritune services or providing us with your information, you consent to the transfer of your personal data to the United States and any other country in which we or our service providers maintain facilities. We will handle your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy regardless of where it is processed. If applicable, you have the right to be informed of the safeguards we use for international transfers of your data (you can contact us for more information on this).

Your Rights and Choices

You have certain rights and choices regarding your personal information. We strive to honor the rights of individuals as required by applicable laws (including GDPR for EU/EEA individuals and CCPA for California residents). These rights may include the following:

  • Access and Transparency: You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you  . This means you can ask us to confirm whether we are processing your personal data and request a copy of that data (commonly known as a data subject access request). We will provide you with the information in a readily usable format, usually electronic. You also have the right to know the categories of personal information we have collected about you, the sources of that information, the purposes for collecting it, and the categories of third parties with whom we have shared it   (which this Privacy Policy is intended to explain).

  • Rectification (Correction): You have the right to request that we correct or update any inaccurate or incomplete personal information we hold about you  . You may correct some of this information directly by logging into your account (for example, you can update your profile details or email address). For any other corrections, please contact us and we will rectify the information as required.

  • Deletion: You have the right to request deletion of your personal information (the “right to be forgotten”)  . Upon your request (or subject to applicable law), we will delete your personal data that we hold, provided that we do not need to retain it for legal reasons (for example, for recordkeeping, to complete transactions you’ve requested, or to comply with legal obligations). Do note that if you request deletion of essential data (like information tied to your account), it may result in closing your account or limiting your access to the service. We will inform you if any data cannot be deleted because of legal requirements.

  • Data Portability: In certain circumstances, you have the right to receive your personal data in a portable format and to have that data transmitted to another controller . Essentially, we can provide you or a third party you designate with a copy of your data in a commonly used machine-readable format, to the extent this is required by law (this typically applies to information you provided to us).

  • Withdrawal of Consent / Opt-Out of Marketing: Where we rely on your consent to process your information (such as for sending marketing emails), you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time . If you no longer wish to receive our newsletter or promotional communications, you can opt out by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in any marketing email, or by contacting us as described in the Contact section. Your opt-out will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal. Additionally, if you are a California resident, you can instruct us not to send you marketing communications (we treat this similarly to withdrawing consent).

  • Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing of Data: As noted, Ritune does not sell your personal information. However, if you are covered by laws like the CCPA, you have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information  . We honor this right by default, because we do not sell or share personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising. If that ever changes, we will provide a clear “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” mechanism.

  • Right to Restrict or Object (EU/EEA users): Under GDPR, you have the right to restrict our processing of your data or object to certain processing activities in some situations  . For example, you can request that we limit processing if you contest the accuracy of your data or if you need data preserved for legal claims. You can also object to processing based on our legitimate interests (including profiling for analytics) or to receiving direct marketing. If you lodge an objection, we will review it and comply unless we have a compelling legitimate ground to continue processing or as otherwise permitted by law.

  • Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights. This means, for example, we will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or provide a lesser quality of service because you made a privacy rights request   .

  • Other Rights: Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have additional rights. For instance, EU/EEA individuals have the right not to be subject to automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects, unless it meets certain requirements (note: Ritune does not engage in such automated decision-making). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory data protection authority if you believe our handling of your personal information violates applicable law (EU users can contact the data protection authority in their country; California users can contact the California Attorney General’s office, etc.). We encourage you to contact us first, so we can address your concerns directly.

Exercising Your Rights: To exercise any of the rights above, please contact us using the information in the Contact Information section below. Please specify the right you wish to exercise and the scope of the request. For your privacy and security, we will need to verify your identity before fulfilling a rights request, especially for access, deletion, or portability requests   . For example, we may ask you to provide information that matches what we have on file, or take other steps to confirm you are the account holder. We will respond to valid requests within the timeframe required by law (generally within 30 days for most requests under GDPR, and 45 days for CCPA requests, with possible extension)  . If we need more time or cannot fulfill a request, we will let you know the reason (such as when we are legally permitted to retain certain data or if an exemption applies).

There is no fee for making a request, unless it is manifestly unfounded or excessive. If you have an authorized agent making a request on your behalf (per California law or otherwise), we will need proof of the agent’s authorization and may still verify your identity directly.

Children’s Privacy

Ritune’s services are not intended for children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Protecting children’s privacy is extremely important to us. If you are under 13, please do not attempt to register an account or send any personal information about yourself to us. In the event we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child under 13, we will take prompt steps to delete such information from our records. We adhere to the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), which imposes requirements on websites collecting data of children under 13, as well as similar data protection principles internationally.

If you are a parent or guardian and you believe that a child under 13 may have provided personal information to Ritune, please contact us immediately (see Contact Information below). We will work to promptly investigate and remove the information, and take any other necessary measures.

For teenagers between 13 and 18: While our Site and Apps are generally meant for a general audience and not specifically directed to minors, if you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you should use Ritune only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. Some jurisdictions (such as the EU, under GDPR) may have stricter age thresholds (e.g., 16) for requiring parental consent for data collection – we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the applicable age of consent in those jurisdictions.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update or revise this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. If we make changes, we will post the updated policy on this page with a new “Effective Date.” We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information. If we make any material changes, we will notify you by means of a prominent notice on our website or via email, prior to the change becoming effective . For example, if we were to change the way we use personal data in a manner that is significantly different from what we stated at the time of collection, we would alert you to this change. By continuing to use the Site or our services after such updates take effect, you agree to the revised policy (to the extent permitted by law).

In case we need your consent for certain changes (where required by law), we will obtain that consent.
